LOUISVILLE ASSOCIATION OF PARALEGALS
On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, Sullivan University will host its annual Paralegal Roundtable Discussions for students enrolled in its Paralegal Studies program. The Roundtable panel is comprised of Louisville Association of Paralegal ("LAP") members who share information with the students about their day-to-day responsibilities as a working paralegal. Each paralegal participant discusses his/her role and function at their place of employment, area of law practiced, specific job responsibilities, work environment including contact with other paralegals, judges, attorneys, law clerks, secretaries, etc., the positive/negative aspects of their job, opportunity for advancement and then answers questions from the students. It’s a fun, casual atmosphere and a great way for the LAP to connect with paralegal students.
LAP’s Student Liaison Mentor Committee ("SLMC") is seeking volunteers for this year’s event. There are two opportunities to participate with a day panel discussion being held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an evening panel discussion from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
If you are interested in participating, please contact SLMC Chair, Carissa Moss, at cmoss@louisvilleprosecutor.com as soon as possible. Please provide your (1) Name; (2) Employer/Work Location; (3) Area of Law; (4) Years as Paralegal or in the Legal Field; and (5) Whether you are a Sullivan University graduate and if not, what type of degree you hold.
